Quarterbacks to Start in Week 13

Trevor Lawrence vs. Bengals defense

The Bengals defense hasn’t recovered from the losses of both of their starting safeties last season. Their pass rush is inconsistent, too. Since their bye in Week 7, the Bengals have allowed 30+ points twice and allowed 340+ passing yards to the 49ers and Texans. The Jaguars have the number 1 best matchup of Week 13 when accounting for the quality of their offensive skill positions versus the defense and the per-play production of offense and defense this season.

Baker Mayfield vs. Panthers defense

Mayfield has thrown two touchdown passes in four of his past five games. He’s also thrown interceptions in the past three games, but the Panthers defense is bad at generating pressure and at making interceptions. Baker’s matchup is the ninth-best of the Week 13 matchups in my rankings.

Quarterbacks to Sit in Week 13

Patrick Mahomes vs. Packers defense

With the Chiefs lacking wide receivers and running a conservative offense, Mahomes has been only a fringe starter for fantasy football purposes. The Packers defense, meanwhile, has limited opponents to ~6.2 yards per pass attempt, compared to a league average of ~6.5. They have limited opposing QBs to the tenth-fewest fantasy points per game.

Jared Goff vs. Saints defense

The Saints are allowing just ~5.9 yards per pass attempt and the eleventh-fewest fantasy points per game. Goff is one of my quarterbacks in my two-QB home league. I’m benching him in favor of Russell Wilson.
